Still tight after 9 days.....

Recommended Posts

I was able to eat runny oatmeal this am 1/2c and about 1/3c of Beans with cheece for lunch. I have had fresh spinich, carrot, celery and beet juice to make sure I am getting nutrients. I also can snack on nuts if I chew real good.

It seems the later it is in the evening the better I can eat. I was able to eat some moist fish the size of two half dollars last night and 1/2 lentil Soup.< /p>

I don't know what to do. I was at 1 cc and went to 1.6cc. I can only eat deli meat, a couple slices.

I am concerned that I am not eatting enough. I keep hearing what a fine line it is and I just don't know and that is why I am telling you what I have eatten.

It seems I get full on NOTHING at all. Is this the way it should be?

Would you suggest I get .1cc out or am I ok?

Tonight I ate about 1/2c arichoke, slowly and sometimes will start sliming, YUK!

No problems with liquids and it takes me 30 minutes to get down the little I do eat.

Thanks for any advice you may have.

Alice, if you're not pbing (throwing up) or sliming after meals, it's possible that you just have very good restriction. Are you able to get your Water intake in during the day (to avoid dehydration)? Concentrate on what types of foods that you are eating...high Protein, low fat. Perhaps a Protein Drink for Breakfast (if you're unable to eat anything in a.m.). However solid foods will stick w/you longer than liquids. Are you taking a good daily Multi-Vitamin?

I do get my protien shake in. I cant eat more than about 1/2 c food, unless it is Soup.< /p>

I am getting my Water in without problem. No problem with foods sticking to me because I am never hungry. I eat because I know I need to eat. No, I am not taking a Vitamin, but I will get a chewable one.

What do you eat in a day?

It sounds like you have great restriction. Perhaps you are not used to eating that small amount of food. I feel the same way. I just cooked a healthy choice meal and I can barely eat 1/4 of it. I think the band is doing it's job and we are just not used to it. Try keeping track of everything you eat, even if it is a small amount. Then go to fitday.com and enter it in the food journal. I would bet that you are getting 1000 calories. Keep making the healthy choices. Lentil Soup, deli turkey, shrimp goes down easy, yogurt, eggs, moist chicken, you know the good stuff. Make sure you can drink your Water and enjoy the freedom.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
