Blund 0 Posted March 26, 2008 I've been surfing the web for a loan to pay the approx $5,000 co-payment I will have. We have excellent credit, and would like to find a zero interest 12+ month loan. I had this kind of financing for my lasik eye surgery a few years ago. My surgeon's office doesn't offer anything. Any ideas?
momof321 0 Posted March 26, 2008 Try Capital One Healthcare Finance. I believe they offer 0%, although they told me the doctor I was using didn't offer the 0%. (Not sure what the dr has to do with it.)_They do have rates as low as 1.9%. I hope they can help.
oscarel 0 Posted March 29, 2008 If your credit is good why not open a credit card account that has 0% interest rate? The Disney Visa from Chase is offering 0% for 12 months.
Blund 0 Posted March 29, 2008 Yes, the 0% credit cards are looking like the way to go. Most of the "medical" loan places have to be affiliated with my surgeon. There are a lot of cc's at 0% intor rate. Am. X has one for up to 15 or 18 months.
kaytiebugs 0 Posted March 30, 2008 Be mindful that many credit cards with 0% interest still accrue interest if you don't pay them off within the 12 months. This was the case with a Chase credit card we had (our first credit card). After the 12 months our jaw dropped to see all of that interest tacked onto what we owe them. Also, God forbid you can't pay it off within 12 months and have to pay interest.... we have fairly good credit and our credit card rates have gone from 15-17% all the way up to 35% on one of them with no explination or even so much as a notification from the credit card company. Honestly, I'd rather work 4 jobs and save the $5000 than use a credit card. Best of luck to you. Have you thought about a bank loan?
oscarel 0 Posted March 31, 2008 Most retail credit cards do accrue interest, Best Buy, Home Depot. I've never had a normal credit card that charged accrued interest. You should always read the terms and conditions before using them.
