Tummy tuck next Thursday!

Recommended Posts

Well I am going for it and getting a Tummy Tuck next Thursday. I am so excited and scared. I never thought I would be able to do this or come this far. I guess I have kind of done my own make over. First I got my braces and then my lap band. After losing the weight I had to get a small loan for breast aug. And now that we have paid that off I am getting a TT. I am going to make a show about it. Just kidding. But I do feel like I am in one of those make over shows I have watched on tv. I am just really scared having this surgery because my Dr said it will be about 4 hours. I have to get the TT and Lipo on the outside of each of my hips because I have a big bump there for some reason. I know I will be ok. But it is hard leaving my 2 boys to have a surgery that is just for looks. It kind of makes me feel selfish. If something were to happen to me because of this it would be horrible. So if any of you have any good stories about having this done please fill me in ok. Thanks to all of you for always being there.

Good for you! This is my "makeover year", too! Got my lapband, next I'm getting a nose job (both for functionality reasons and for cosmetic ones), then once I've lost the rest of the weight, a Tummy Tuck and breast lift. I deserve it! So do you!

Congrats! I don't think it's selfish at all...i mean your kiddies want a mom who is confident and secure in her body..you'll teach them to be by just being that way yourself. So look at it that way.

Don't forget to take lots of pictures!!

I feel more selfish that I don't feel selfish! I totally cannot wait until my TT on the 21st of April. My pannus will be gone and my stomach will be flat. It is truly something to look forward to. Congrats.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
