I havent had a fill for a year now, but from memory, I had 3 fills, taking me from 0 to 2 ml in a 4ml band at 8 weeks post surgery, 12 weeks post surgery and 16 weeks post surgery. Then I went about four months between the next three which took me up to 3ml. And 3ml has been sitting nicely for me for almost a year now.

I really coudlnt remember now, I lost 40kg or so all up. I remember I did tend to lose for about a month after a fill and then stop, and I lost a good half of that weight in the first eight months or so, it took me about 16 months to lose the rest.

My doctor will give fills 2 weeks apart. I've had 3 fills in a little over 4 months and those 3 fills were all about 2 weeks apart. The 1st fill was 5 weeks after surgery. I haven't needed one since and I am happy.

I had my first fill 8 weeks after surgery, then my 2nd fill 8 weeks after that. I am scheduled for my next one May 1st which is about 9 weeks after the last one... I don't have "Tight" restriction, but I have some and I am still losing 1-2 pounds a week.

I schedule mine every 3-4 weeks and I usually keep them because it takes about 2-3 weeks to get in!

I am not self pay but I am ready for this to really get to work. Finally I have SOME restriction... but it is still not enough. I want to be tight where I know if I eat wrong. because I keep forgetting. Right now I only get my band reminder when I eat thick bread or dry meat. I need more. *sigh* I am sure I will get there soon...hopefully.

I love my Dr. He doesn't run by a strict schedule, I can get a fill when I feel I need it. I had surgery in Nov. My first fill wasn't until Feb. I have 2cc in a 4cc band and I feel really good. I definately have restriction, but I do not have any trouble with any food. I am able to eat meat, chicken, and some bread. I definately eat way smaller than before and something must be working, I've lost 73 lbs. 57 since surgery.

I just saw him last week. He is really happy with my progress and told me he will see me in 3 months. If I feel like I should need anything before then, just give him a call.

Just got first fill, but doctor says visits every month. How much do you have in your band, I'm at 4cc's

I'm scheduled to see the doc every 2 months and get a fill if necessary. I'd prefer more frequent, but he's not a very aggressive guy. But, he says I can come sooner if I get hungry in less than 3 hours.

Sounds as though its pretty regular to get a fill every month. I have had one extra one only because my doctor wanted to boost me along a little. However, I had my last fill this past Monday, I'm still restricted and only able to eat small amounts at a time, and must take my time. I get quite hungry before I'm actually able to eat too, which just makes the meals more enjoyable. Good luck.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
