Jami Victoria 0 Posted March 25, 2008 I just got insurance approval this afternoon (yes!) and I'm very excited to begin this live-changing journey! A little nervous?? You betcha! But, I've made alot of changes (diet, stopped smoking!) and I think I'll be fine. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me how long they were out of work for and how long they had pain? Also, was the pain from the site of the port/incisions or from the inside? I know that everyone is different, but I just wanted to get some idea as to what to expect. Thanks so much! MrsCooper 1 Posted March 25, 2008 Hi Jami, As you said, everyone has different experiences. Here's mine... I got banded on a Friday afternoon (just a month ago) and was back at work on Monday morning. I work in an office environment and sit in a cube all day so there is no strenuous activity involved in my work at all. I was only in 'pain' for a day or 2... I was in discomfort for about a week. The pain was around the incisions and from having the port (a foreign object) under the skin, the discomfort was from the incisions and from when I would eat - I had a hard time telling the difference between being sore and being full. That only lasted 2 days. I found that the more I walked the better I felt.
