Jessyca 0 Posted March 25, 2008 Ejmdiva, No, I seriously relate. My band date was 3/17/08. I too am hungry. It started on Friday. I don't know if it has anything to do with not having to follow a pre-op diet or what. I can't wait for soft foods. That will be next Monday. Take care! beckymein1021 0 Posted March 25, 2008 ejmdiva, I felt the same way after I first got banded. I was cold all the time (which was a real switch for me after being hot all the time). Hang in there with the liquids...bandster HELL is just that. As soon as you get to mushies, you'll be fine. Soft food will never taste so good! Good luck! martucci 0 Posted March 28, 2008 Becky, I have not been approved yet for banding but I hope I feel cold all the time when I get it as I am hot constantly and at least if you are cold you can put more clothes on. Oh how I look forward to that! Call me crazy but I envy people who are cold all the time. Thank you all for something else to look forward to! Karen
ccc0206 0 Posted March 28, 2008 (edited) Was banded on 3/20 and felt decent only at the one week mark. Also, having trouble sleeping. Was cold and yucky until yesterday when I was able to eat mushies...ate pea/bean Soup processed...and had a mashed scrambled egg and potato... Made all of the difference. Slept a little better(but just a little) and was not so cold...Didn't need socks to sleep... Looking forward to a "warmer" day today... It's in the food!!! But I am going SLOW!!!! Edited March 28, 2008 by ccc0206 wording

Karen Hi Karen, That's EXACTLY how I felt all the time before being banded. I was always the 'hot' one in the office; always wanting to turn down the thermostat and freeze everyone out because I was sweating up a storm. It's funny now, I'm the COLD one in the office (just like a dog, with a cold, wet nose). It's a real change for me. When my metabolism slows down (which it did after I couldn't gobble down all that food), I would find myself SO cold, sometimes I'd take a hot bath when I got home. I'm looking forward to our A/C bills being MUCH lower this summer! I have never regretted getting the band. Oh wait, I DO have one regret. I regret not having done it sooner (so much precious time wasted)...
mediummike 0 Posted March 28, 2008 I was always hot before surgery (shorts in the winter kind of guy) but since surgery just the opposite. It has normalized a bit lately (not as cold) but I do wear a sweatshirt a lot more often these days (still wearing sorts)
beckymein1021 0 Posted March 28, 2008 HA! I hardly ever wore a sweatshirt before and now it's an actual PLEASURE to put on one! Oh the lovely changes we all get to experience! This is a fun journey!!
Gordon C 0 Posted March 28, 2008 Yup Cold all the time too since surgery. I suspect it is due to a big switch over in my metabolism. The post op liquid diet makes it very hard to get more than about 1000 cals per day and I think this is enough to make me run with a very low sugar / low body glycogen level all the time. I dont know when or if it will get better but I'm sure its nothing to worry about and its a small price to pay in the long run Gordon

It's WONDERFUL to see the blood pressure coming down and taking less meds!! And BTW...for what it's worth, I'm freezing today. I know if I got up and just did a quick jog around the office I'd warm up right fast...! Or as Jachut would say: shut my gob and move my ass!! :biggrin2:
