To get the Lap Band procedure done, do I have to have a refferal from a doctor first? I went to a seminar first before I talked to my doctor.

It depends on your insurance. HMO v. PPO v. EPO v. etc. If you don't know whether referrals are required, call your insurance provider and ask.
