leamia 0 Posted March 25, 2008 :confused2:Hello, I had my surgery on 3/14, I was released from the hospital on 3/17. I am having difficulty with what to eat (liquids) I mean drink...I really haven't had much. I feel very tired, no energy... my back is hurting pretty bad. Any suggestions for a new banded girl???:confused2:
MrsCooper 1 Posted March 25, 2008 I was banded on Feb. 22 -- I drink an Isopure everyday (you can buy it at GNC...it's kind of pricey, but worth it... the powder is icky, the premixed is good) -- it has 40 grams of protien in every drink - the Protein helps to make you feel full longer, and it also aids in the healing of muscles. Also drank a lot of chicken broth the first 2 weeks.
mattintosh 0 Posted March 25, 2008 Leamia, did your Doc give you any nutritional guidlines to follow? These are important times for the rookie. Nothing thick or solid, please. You need to have your band heal and grow the tissue that holds the band in place. If you eat something that makes the band move around it can break the scar tissue loose. Not good. This is the reason mostly for the liquid phase just after banding. Important stuff. Matt
mattintosh 0 Posted March 25, 2008 Of course the band is not healing I meant to say the area the band is around needs to adjust to the band and form a scar like tissue to firmly hold your band. Matt
