complaint - Laundry.

i absolutely hate drying / folding / & PUTTING away laundry - i rather clean toilets...ok done complaining - off to do MORE laundry, but some queso sounds really good about now.

I've got a yummy white cheese dip recipe (like the Mexican restaurants serve), if anyone's interested. It's super-simple to make, too.

8 ounces white american cheese from the deli section of your grocery store (some also sell pre-packaged white american in the cheese section)

1 4 ounce can of diced green chilis or jalapenos (chilis are milder)

1/4-1/2 cup (depends on how thick you want the dip) half and half or cream

Combine in a saucepan and cook on med-low temperature until smooth.

the good ole' texas boy i married believes queso is a food group to it's own & the spicier the better! i will happily pass on this version - but my guess he'll just have to throw chorizo into it:)

ps - laundry still stinks....2 person household, just not right to do 8 loads a day.

I want to complain . . . I've had a Migraine since Wednesday and because of this dang band I can't get my medication down, so it won't go away.

Any one else on here have Migraines and if so, how do you treat them?

And I'm hungry and too restricted to eat!

I know I'm 2 days late on this and I hope your migraine has subsided by now. I have found that a good stiff dose of caffeine can often take the edge off those suckers. Caffeine causes the blood vessels to constrict. There is one caveat, however...If you are someone who regularly consumes a lot of caffeine, it may actually cause the migraine to become worse.

I am lucky that I live alone. I do laundry about every two weeks. I don't count my gym clothes which have to be washed every day. I just throw them in a pile and put them on the next day. Spandex doesn't wrinkle.

Hey about that dip. I read about the spinach dip, but I didn't know it had to be a certain brand. Where do you find that at Walmart? Is it in the deli section when you first walk in?

I am so lazy, it's the only store I ever go to. I have to go there because their dog food is the cheapest and I am not about to go shopping twice. Did I mention how lazy I am?

The spinach dip doesn't have to be a certain brand, Tostitos just happens to be the only brand I've ever seen, and it's found in the chip aisle. There might be other brands, but I haven't ever seen any.

Hey thanks! So it's by the bean dip and the cheese dips that are by the chips. I get it now! I love spinach dip, but I have made it out of a package that you have to add a bunch of stuff to. And like I said, I am very lazy.

LOL! Me, too! Trust me, if it was a mix, I'd buy the mix and there it would sit. I have a pantry full of crap that I'm too damn lazy to make.

well -

have a hubby that travels tues/fri; drops & empties a suitcase and fills it back up. he changes w/work & gym clothes at least 3 times a day even when home.

dogs - have 6 of them and have "dog" towels. i'm on a ranch they're in the pool / pond or have some funky mud stuff attached at all times.

pool / hot tub - bath towels - i have issues i don't like to use a towel more than once.

sheets / blankets - same as above, i change bedding often & since i let my dogs up on the couches i lay blankets out so they can be comfy.

then there is me - i'm either at the gym, or working on the ranch...each is a change of clothes twice a day.

it adds up ...damn is right

Too bad you can't hire a maid. I would lose my mind doing that much laundry.

You can get TGIFriday's spinach dip in the freezer section of your grocery store, too. It's not as good as Ruby Tuesday's or Chili's but it's nice and hot in about 3 1/2 minutes and it can satisfy a craving.

I forgot to mention regular "shop / barn " towels & clothes...It's a LOT to keep up with - I retired so early & thought this ranch life would be such a piece a cake.....WOW, and eye opener

I kind of like doing laundry and at one point I had two cats and two dogs ( down to one dog now) and had towels and little blankets or mats for them that I was constantly washing, so I get it. At least towels are easy to fold!

But my husband helps by doing our sheets. He loves hanging them on the line to dry ( especially if it's breezy). so lucky me on that!

Ain't nuthin' about ranch life easy, or clean....if it isn't covered in cow crap, it has grease on it----at least here it seems that way!!!

But I don't do anywhere near that much laundry!!!! My DH keeps coveralls to put on when he hits the fields.....gotta remember to tell him thanks!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
