Lap Band Commercials?

When I started researching GB and LB I hadn't ever seen it advertised and most that I talked to had never heard of the LB... The last month in my town they have been running tons of commercials about it.

Have they had this commercial all along or is this new?

Many surgeons run their commercials on local channels.

Allergan has a new commercial campaing too, replacing the previous "hunger lion" one. It may be getting more air time.

I live in the Houston area and the commercials have been around for at least 3 years. Most of the commercials were done by local LB surgeons. Now I see commercials by the manufacturer of the band too.

No, I've known about lap-band for 5-6 years and its been in the last 2 or 3 months I've seen the commercials and I RARELY watch TV so they are def doing some advertising!

Allergan has a new commercial that just started running within this past month or so. They are the company that own the LapBand System. Could that be what you are referring to?

The commercial doesnt give any doctors names or anything but I think lists the bands brand name so probably the band companies.

I have been researching them for years weird to see it all the sudden when im about to do it! :wink:

I had never seen the commercial pre-band (april 07).. but I have noticed a lot of commercials lately. Mine aren't advertising local doctors, they're just lap-band commercials in general.

The LapBand commercial has been running for more than one year in my area of northern New Jersey/NYC. Also, recently they have been showing another commercial from Allergan.
