Hello! I am new here. I found this forum while searching for a Doc. to get a fill. I had the lap band done last July through Belight weight & doctors in Detroit. I have not had much help from them regarding my problem. We moved & due to weather & the move had not been able to make it back to Detroit since Ocotober! I am currently in Wisconsin & am trying to find another doctor in driving distance to get a fill. I have not gained any weight since October. However, I have not lost any either. Has it been too long? What does this mean for me? Will I ever be able to find a docotor in my area? Was this move the ruin of my lap band? HELP! If anyone knows any of these answers I'd greatly appreciate if you'd take the time to let me know. THANKS!

I'll encourage you with this: it's not been too long! The band is still there and once you get a fill you'll be on your way again. Please don't worry that it's been too long -- definitely keep looking for a band doctor or fill center in your area who will help you get a fill!!

Check out the "fill" section on the forum and the Wisconsin group.

Scroll down on the main page and look for "support" section, then USA, then alphabeticaly by state. You might get advice from people close to you.

And No, it's not too late the band is still there, you just need some fill in it.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
