I cheated....any damage???

Recommended Posts

Well it has been 3 weeks since my surgery..and for the first time I cheated. I am very upset with myself. I went to chilis with my husband and ordered the honey chipotle chicken crispers. It comes with fries and corn. I didnt eat any of the corn. It took me all day to eat 3 crispers and a few frys, and I am so pissed at myself. I drank so much tea yesterday too....so I felt miserable. I felt stuffed. I dont know if I was stuffed from the food or all the tea I had. Right now I am supposed to be drinking 2 cups of slim fast and eating a cup of food. Well yesterday I just ate. I didnt do any of the slim fast. Does anyone know how easy it is for your band to slip??? I am so mad at myself!!!!:thumbdown:Any words of wisdom? I am just so afraid I could have damaged the band.

Probably best to avoid going to those kinds of place until you are ready to move to the "regular food" stage. It's just too tempting.

What's done is done, sounds like you didn't eat the whole plate. I don;t know what kind of tea you had.... sweet tea? All empty calories if it was sweet tea, but you know that. The post op stage is a good time to start getting good band habits. No drinking with our meal or for one hour after. Just get back on track, that's the best thing you can do for yourself now.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
