Hi all.

My name is Linda and I am new to this site. I was banded on 05-16-07 and to date have lost 105 pounds. I was doing great until October, when i began to have serious stomach problems. My fill was removed in November adn i had finally decided to have it put back in and BAM the stomach problems are back. My problem only happens at night after i fall asleep. I wake up with a mouthful of bile or vomit. ( I know YUCK!). It seems to go on most of the night. I have tried harldy eating adn not eating at bedtime. Any one out there with suggestions, I would appreciate it.

Sounds exactly like what I did. My Doctor told me my band was overfilled and had to remove some fill. The next fill I had, I did the same thing. Isn't that taste the most awful thing ever! Anyway, my doctor tells me that my band has slipped. They can prescribe some prescription antacids which might help - it didn't help the night time thing for me, though. Good luck! let me know how you do.

I am going to have my fill taken out tomorrow...I am also going to push to find out what is going on. They did do the barium swallow test adn it does not look like my band slipped so i will wait and see....thanks for your comments

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
