Adult Question....

Recommended Posts

Have looked around and I haven't found this question. And if this question belongs somewhere else, please just tell me. I was wondering, after being banded, how was the sexual relations, with your significant other? The port area. I didn't ask the doc this question, just didn't think about it. Thanks,

D'

Never a problem. Obviously while you're initially healing, you'll wanna make sure your belly isn't being smooshed or bumped around, but you'll be the judge and know whether its still sore or not and can take a little rough-housing...

And after you're all healed, I don't think you need to worry about it at all.

We waited until I was about 3 weeks out before doing anything and then we just took it slow. Now, after losing 70 pounds, OH MY GOD sex is amazing! I am so much more flexible and can get into such crazy positions!!!

He says that he felt the port a few times, but only when we hug very tight. He said he feels like a bump in me.

Since you said "The port area" I assume you mean sensitivity during sex in the area of the port? If so, I'm over 2 years out and this is still a reality for me. There are some things I can't do, or don't want to, because they will cause port discomfort. But all the other things I'm now able to do again more than make up for it.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
