I like Bolthouse Farms Protein Shakes , they are pre made, just grab and drink.

You can get them in the produce section of your grocery store or Walmart or walgreens. The only down side is they do have caffeine in them .

But they are the only Protein Drinks i can tolerate since they are all natural and artifical sweetners give me Migraines.

So Its all i drink for protein shakes.

Good luck . Others im sure will suggest other options.

Mindy

I like Isopure fruit flavored ones. If you want one that does not have the creamy, milky taste, try these. They have some that taste like cool-aid. I like all the flavors, grape, apple, orange, fruit punch. I just drink these instead of my crystal light about once a day. I do not know the calorie content right off hand but it is not bad and they have 40g of Protein. They are the best i have tried.

If you add flaxseed oil to any shake and put it in the blender, it gets rid of the gritty texture, plus flaxseed oil is very good for you

2... Healthy Weight Super Market in Springfield MO.. sells fruit flavored drinks that come in a shaker bottle as powder, you add Water and shake. Aspertame free... no grit. My favorite is lemon-razzy.

Good luck!

 This is the best secret in Protein out there! Those shaker bottles are fantastic "juice" protein! (Thanks so much for this hint, MazieMommy!) The single-serve Pineapple Orange Shaker & Cran-Grape Shaker (more grape than cran) are my favorites. You just add water right to the powder in the drinking bottle they come in & shake. The flavors are all very mild & they have an apple juice-like consistency. It's perfect for when I need a change from the creamy, latte-style shakes that are my standard.

The only problem is that you have to order it by phone (417.881.8600) if you are not local to Springfield -- no on-line ordering yet at www.healthy-weight-supermarket.com. And I wish they sold the powder in bulk canisters!!

Thanks for all the suggestions, the fruity ones sound good and I'll have to try the flaxseed oil in the creamy ones.

Thanks again,

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
