Dr. Miles or Dr. Schmitt patients

Recommended Posts

I think, possibly most of us had done most of the stuff before we got the insurance approval. And now me- I got approved yesterday but now I have to jump through hoops while Neoami faxes my diabetes doctor(something about finding out what to do about my medicine during the preop temporary diet since I wont be taking in as many calories) and I have to have the pshch fax(for the third time) my notes from his visit. Then I will get a date-supposedly.

I am jealous but proud for you Crazgirl for getting a surgery date so close to now. Neoami told me it will probally the end of Sept or First of Oct on mine.

It does sound like God is blessing us all!!

That is wonderful news. I hope I don't have to jump through anymore hoops. I'm tired, I think I'm trained by now! I had the 6 month dr supervised visits done when I went to see Dr Miles for the first time, so all I had left was the normal stuff. I hope you and me both will get a surgery date soon, Dash.

As excruciating as the wait is, it really is over before you know it! Just look how far you've all come -- you're almost there! Hang in there!

Jason, put the soda in the fridge (not the freezer) and let it get really cold and then mix it with some juice and it won't taste so bad, cause it is awful. It makes for a fairly unpleasant afternoon, but I was so excited it went by pretty fast.

Stock up on sugar free frozen popsicles and Jello, they went down much better then broth (still can't stand the thought of it).

The juice really does make a difference in taste. I can't stand to drink that stuff...I always get sick to my stomach after taking it. YUCK!

I would normally agree 100% (I usually gag with each swallow) but, this time, knowing what I was doing it for, I didn't have the near the trouble getting it down that I usually do! :smile2:

Oh I bet Missy ~ Thinking that getting that stuff down is for a great cause really made the difference.

Had fill #3 yesterday. I had some pretty descent restriction, but felt like I could use a little more. So I got another 1/2cc, so now I have 6cc's in my band. I told Lisa that I hope that this is the "sweet spot" she told me to make my next fill appt for 6 weeks and if I feel okay then put it off for 2 weeks. I was so worried that I would be too tight and have to go back. But so far so good. I had Soup for dinner and oatmeal for Breakfast and more soup for lunch and a piece of banana. I have some great restriction so far so I am keeping my fingers crossed it stays.

Looks like things are coming along for yall. Im so happy to see all the progress everyone is making!!

=)

Shawna,

Hope this is the fill for you -- something must be working cause I see your ticker is on the move again! Awesome job!

Not to be gruesome but WOW what a difference a crap makes! I have been so constipated lately. I can only attribute it to the decreased intake because I really don't lack in the Fiber department or Water for that matter. I decided today I had had enough so I trucked off to Wal-Mart for some glycerin suppositories (that right there tells you I was desperate) and some Miralax to start taking on a regular basis starting tomorrow. Anyway, took care of business when I got back and then this evening, after I got out of the shower, I decided to weigh and had lost 1.5 pounds.

Not sure really why I thought you guys would want to know this other than the fact that maybe some of you soon-to-be-banders might need to have something on hand to aid with Constipation -- I didn't have any problems postop but here lately it has really been an issue.

Sounds like good restriction to me. Stay away from the pizza! I have to wait four more weeks, due to holiday and then my vacation and I'm not really happy about that.

Missy, thanks for sharing, girl! Seriously, I know what you mean, Constipation is a struggle with me sometimes as well and the pre-bandeds need to know that. When I remember, I take a chewable Fiber Choice which keeps things going. Our nutritionist says an apple a day should take care of it, too.

Thank you Southrn and Di! So far I have not had any problems with Constipation, thank goodess! I do try to make sure I get in as much fiber as I can.

Di did you see our group pic on the banders4life website? LOL we are famous!!:wink2:

I think so far so good. I think I know the full feeling we are all looking for. Yesterday, I had oatmeal for bfast and Soup for lunch and decided to eat "normal stuff" for dinner. So I made weinies and kraut (chopped kraut), blackeye peas and mac & cheese. I fixed my portions at maybe 2 TBSP each and I was satisfied. It was weird. Its like the food just sort of sticks with you. I really hope it stays.

=)

I did see our picture! Good angle for me

You know, I actually felt that way for about six weeks after surgery. Right until I had my first fill. Lisa says I was probably still swollen. I can't wait to feel that way again.......

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
