Nothing says spring like 3-5 inches of snow in the forecast.

Can winter end already? Snow does not belong in the springtime. I am sick and tired of being cold all the time. I need a little warmth and sunshine.

Don't worry LJM, when it is a nice 70 degree summer day and y'all are roasting down in the sweltering heat of the Longhorn State I will be sure to get my gloating in then. =)

But for real usually by now the freezing days are few and far between. It should be mid 40's on a regualr basis instead of this 25 degree snow crap.

I hear ya!

Here in Minnesota, on the ND border, we got at least 8 inches the last few days! It was beginning to look like spring, snow melting, hell we could see the grass!

Although I must say 12 years ago, to the day, was my wedding day ~ started as a clear day, no snow, spring coats & during the ceremony, a BLIZZARD hit! We had guests stranded for 3 days that only lived 45 miles away! We even got starnded at my in laws!:)

Mid 40's aren't so bad =)

It was about that yesterday and the snow started to melt. Friday was very bad. We ended up with about 8 inches. I went to church and by the time I got out the roads were just a sheet of ice. We decided to go to dinner afterwards and when we left the resturant it was a little better since the ice was covered in snow but it was still rough traveling. It should be getting back to normal this week though.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
