Hi my name is Crystal and I had the lap band surgery on Jan 24th. I just had my first fill on Mon. March 17th. I have lost 21 pounds so far and have loved having the band I feel so much better. Even Before my fill I could only eat about half of what I used to (bringing home left overs for the next night is a great feeling) now its even less. I have been very lucky and havn't slimmed yet. I haven't started exercising yet but am going to start tonight. Its amazing that I actually feel like exercising. I am so glad I found this site I was looking for something like this to be able to talk to people who are going through the same things as I am. I look foward to talking to and meeting everyone I can.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I am happy with my band, too!

If you look over the forum you'll find groups you can join based on the month you had surgery, or by age, or by how many pounds you need to lose.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
