SuzanneG 1 Posted March 19, 2008 Hi everybody, I just wanted to share that I am officially not plus sized. This was a milestone for me and I'm very excited about it. I bought new clothes last night in the Misses section and it felt so strange. But in a good way! I've discovered that no one wants to hear about my weight loss, it makes my overweight brother upset because he's still waiting for his band and even skinny people who I thought cared, don't seem interested, so I just tell my lapband friends. Thanks for listening!

SuzanneG 1 Posted March 19, 2008 It really does. I almost felt like someone was going to come up and tell me I am in the wrong department. Every time I walked by someone, I thought they were probably wondering what I was doing in their section. It feels great and a couple of people at work have noticed - finally. Thanks guys! Crishell 0 Posted March 19, 2008 Congratulations!! Isn't it such a great feeling? I felt the same way the first time i officially ventured into the Misses dept. at JCPenney. I am soon to be 40 and have never been able to shop in the Misses dept in my adult or even late teen life. I kept thinking someone was gonna tap me on the shoulder and say that Women's World was over there. Even felt like a traitor until I tried those size 16 jeans on and they fit. While I am not totally out of the plus size dept, I can now fit into more clothes in Misses in a 18 (even have one pair of 16) or XL tops. There are not alot of people that I can talk to either. While I have some overweight friends & family, they have not been overweight ALL THEIR LIVES so they still cannot totally understand my situation. I was always the "biggest of the big" so to speak even as a child, teenager and now adult. I now detect some jealousy or anomosity because I am losing/have lost my title of "the biggest of the big" and I am now the same size, if not already smaller. They are constantly monitoring what they see me eat, trying to keep up with every new stitch of clothing they see me in and ask what size i am now. I even have one cousin who continuously asks me "aren't you done yet?". I just continue to do what I do and not let them discourage me. I did this for me and to improve my life. You have your lapband friends here.
shortgal 5 Posted March 19, 2008 Congratulations! It is hard for others to understand what a victory this is. I ordered a pair of large petite pants on sale from a catalog and thought, I'd probably have to wait a month before they fit, but they did! I must have looked at the label five times, to be sure I was reading the tag right! Hard to wrap my head around these things to, but they feel so good! Onward to size medium one day!
