elle 1 Posted March 18, 2008 I have read on this site that some people will NOT feel the restriction until after a few days or even weeks, after a fill. I don't understand that. Can anyone explain it. Shouldn't you feel the restriction right away and it will get looser as time goes, and you lose weight. I have had my first fill 2 weeks ago (3cc in 10cc band) and don't feel restriction yet. I don't think that I will until I get another fill.
make33 2 Posted March 18, 2008 That's the way it has been for me. With my third fill (2.5cc), I got real restriction for about two weeks and then it got loose again. With this fourth fill I got Friday (another .5cc, up to 3.0cc), I was afraid to get too much, but now I'm not a whole lot tighter than before--thinking I should have gotten 1.0cc! But I've never read where anyone said the Band gets tighter over time...:confused2:
shortgal 5 Posted March 18, 2008 I don't understand why that happens either. I mean the fill in the band is the same now as it is in two weeks, perhaps it's just our stomachs reaction to the fill amount over time? For many people the fill does loosen up over time. I get swelling around the band after fills, so I feel tight for two days after and then it loosens a bit. I hope your next fill gives you restriction. I'm still waiting. I generally get small fills of about 1 cc ( first one was 2 cc's) and I still have only mild restriction.
make33 2 Posted March 18, 2008 Yes, Shortgal, my surgeon is extremely conservative on fills! In fact, on Friday when he learned I'd gotten restriction for two weeks on the last fill, he said "Well, I'll put in .25cc this time"--at which I said, "Oh, you can put in .50cc" and he did. I WAS envious of those other banders who say they get 2cc or 3cc at a clip--but then when I read about the "overfills" and "unfills", I think "Better Safe than Sorry"!! Our perfect time is coming, I'm sure m'dear!!!

KimInMD 1 Posted March 21, 2008 Some say restriction has to do with their monthly cycle. Make a note on your calendar of times when you are tight and times when you are loose, and see if there is a pattern. Stress can also make you tight.
favorite 3 Posted March 21, 2008 i have 2.5cc in a 4cc band and i'm pretty tight. but i notice that the tightness fluctuates from day to day. i never know until i start to eat if it is going to go down easy or get stuck there.

thenume 2 Posted March 22, 2008 A slight unfill is suggested. You need your Protein.< /p>
