Salsa,

How are you? Hope all is better!!

I am SOOOOOOO much better, thank you. I have been able to eat and am starting to get my energy back. I went for a walk yesterday and now that I am home I am just getting ready to go to the gym. I posted somewhere on here that my fill level is actually lower now than it was when I went in to get my fill. My doc is happy about my level and I am happy that I can eat so all is good.

You are doing great on the exercise front and if the scale isn't moving but the inches are...that to me is better. I mean I am at a size 8 now and even though the analytical and ANAL part of my brain tells me to lose those last 2 pounds...it doesn't really matter! A size 8! Holy crap there are not a whole lot of people that small. It has taken me a long time to realize that the scale is not the be all and end all of life. It is a number and I am certain that you and I and everyone else is more than just a number. So instead of getting down Celebrate the fact that you are working out, eating right and becoming healthy. The stupid scales will eventually catch up or "down!"

I am so happy you are back to being you!! Thanks for the encouragement. I really need it at this point. I am going to log in everything this week and have an appointment with the nutritionist the week after next. My doctor feels I will lose in chunks. I am the one who should weigh in monthly.

Again, I am so glad you are feeling better.

I'm back and I didn't log a darned thing this weekend. Grazing, family dinners and Easter candy hit me too. Ugh.

I'm back to the logging as of this morning though! I broke even on the scale again this week but I know exactly why. At least it wasn't a gain, I guess!

Okay, I've logged 2 straight days and half of today, and I think it's having the desired result (that, and I was disgusted with myself after this weekend). I have been much better behaved with food choices, and I was rewarded this morning with 1.5 lbs gone. PHEW!!!

I made a point of eating some cheese before heading out to the dog park so I wasn't starving by the time I got home. I think it paid off, and I just wasn't as ravenous as I've been when I wait too long (it's well after 7 by the time I eat dinner).

Now I'm pondering whether another fill is in order. I'm getting a cup or so in each meal, but I get stuck a lot easier these days and the meals do seem to be "holding" me. I realized I also have been skipping planned healthy snack times so it might be why I'm so tempted by the junk. I might have also just been craving the bad stuff after months of being really strict.

In any case, I'm back on the wagon and shooting for better today and after!

How's everyone else doing? Are the log-quitters and the loggers sticking to plan?

Pizzi,

I am logging faithfully today. Seeing Becky's ticker inspired me to try harder. As a matter of fact, I didn't eat the Girl Scout cookie I was eyeing up after reading her post on being close to goal. I am going to log everyday!

Good job, LBR!! It really makes you think when you have to account for it afterwards, doesn't it?!

I need to do this for the nutritionist also. She wants to see what I am eating to see if we can tweak it so I lose more on the scale. Once I turned 45, losing weight has become really slow for me.

Okay I have to join the loggers now! Bring on the ax...oh..wait...not that type of logger! Dang I was looking foward to wearing the orange vest and hard hat! So my nut. wants me to stop counting calories and focus on getting in more variety of food. I am supposed to be getting around 1500 calories and she thinks that is completly do able if I just eat healthy foods in the manner that we have layed out. She has given me the amount of servings of each type of food(fats, starches, fruits, vegs, protein) that I should strive to get each day. So I am supposed to log that for a week and then send it to her so that she can do a complete nutritional analysis of it. I am supposed to follow that for a couple weeks and then see what it has done to my weight. If I am still loosing than we add, if I stay the same then we keep it as is. If I gain...I start crying and ask for my 95$ back! Just kidding...she really doesn't think I will gain. IN fact she thinks I am still going to lose. We are going to adjust the diet slowly in hopes of matching my body's natural equilibrium point. So I pledge to log (not trees but foods!) all next week!

Yay - the more, the merrier! It's really cool to see what the goalsters are doing to settle into a new lifestyle. You're always an inspiration!

I'm off now to complete yesterday's log and start today's. I'll post a summary in a bit, but I do think I did okay.

Self-control brag moment: I went to the grocery store last night because I had a hankering for rotisserie chicken, picked up some tortilla chips and carried them around awhile, then put them back on the shelf and had a HALF portion of soy chips instead. I did have some sunflower seeds last night but I only have small portions and have to shell them so they satisfy the urge for crunch and salty chewables. They have some fat, but at least they're salty, small and take some work to eat :-) Oh, and since I was really out of healthy sweet treats (aka pudding), I opted for a sugar-free koolaid instead. That's progress!

Okay, yesterday's log results - just over 1100 calories (although I really don't count that closely, but I'd like to see it go down just a tad), and the fat and Protein were on target. I didn't get much dairy in, but I'm starting to wonder if I'm getting a little lactose intolerant (might explain some of the gas I'm getting).

I want to hit the 80 lb mark this week (just 2 lbs away), and I REALLY want to get to ONEderland (less than 10 lbs now), so I've got to keep my head in the game! :-)

OK - I have logged faithfully every day since Pizzi posted the thread. Today a former banded buddy (her band slipped) came over and she is a nurse. She knows how much exercise I get and was amazed that the scale doesn't move. I showed her my logs. I got told for the first time in my life I AM NOT EATING ENOUGH!!!!! I need to take in at least 1000 calories a day at a minimum. I have stalled my metabolism. I know I have felt tired lately too. So, I will try my best to accomplish this for a whole week being obsessive and hopefully get a good number next week! Thanks for this thread Pizzi! It certainly saved me!!!

Good job guys! The more the merrier, I say! I need to update my log now. I can't say I've been as good about it as others but I'm getting there, and my awareness is way up when I'm pondering what to eat (that's a big part of what I wanted to achieve).

Today's confession - I went to a Chinese buffet last night. The good news is a small plate was enough, even if there were some high-fat choices on the plate. Much better than a year ago!

Keep up the good work, team!

LBR I know that if I went too low on my calories I stopped losing. In fact when I first went up to 1500 calories I dropped weight quickly.

Alright so I will be logging my food starting on Monday. I did get my menu planned out for the week so we will see how that goes. Keep up the logging.

I was a faithful logger yesterday and already started today. From eating the proper amount of calories I have already lost 1.2 pounds since Friday. Hopefully now I will see some steady weight loss. I am excited!!!:cursing::biggrin:

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
