I am very excited that I lost another lb. I am sure that watching my carbs again so carefully is what has made a difference!

My caramel latte shakes came in today!!!!!! YUMMY!!!

I plan on them replacing my Starbucks trips. Thanks for the suggestion Losing.

I like the Aitkins caramel but wish that they could also be heated. I am a coffee and tea drinker.

Congrats Denise!!!!

Thank you! I am very excited to be only 5 lbs from my goal. Now my goal is not to gain anything over the weekend. That's my downfall. If I am around people eating bad things, I have no willpower. I am getting better, but it's so hard. I wish the junk food would get stuck and make me sick.

My daughter had gastric bypass and if she eats anything that has too much fat in it or any sugar, she gets very sick. I think that would be a big help.

I sorta ate junky today.

Breakfast Kashi Crunch Cereal. It's high in Fiber and whole grain. I have to eat 1/2 cup before I work out with my trainer or I get dizzy. I put ground flax seed in it.

Lunch- cashews from the dollar store

1/2 an Atkins bar

dinner will be half of a South Beach frozen meal, chicken and broccoli.

I've been keeping a food log for my own benefit to see what I've been eating over the last few days. I plugged in the numbers last night and was horrified by how much fat I was eating. That kind of scared me, so today I made a conscious effort to lower my fat intake. I did good today except for the treat I allowed myself, Starbucks!! I get fat free, no whip, and only 1/2 the Syrup. Still had 29 grams of carbs. I couldn't believe it was that much. I would have guessed at least 10g less. Oh well, now I know. What an eye opener.

B- coffee w/ sugar free Creamer

L- Thai shrimp Soup with lime and cilantro

S- Soy Protein Shake (1/2 skim, 1/2 water)

D- Chinese steamed chicken w/ broccoli

Slip-up - Cafe Mocha

I did well today and stayed away from breaded foods.

b-eggs (OMG! I thought I would be able to tolerate them since I had .2cc's removed. I did not PB but it took a while for them to go down.)

l-3/4 cup chili

d-cheeseburger (no bun)...little bit of ketchup

snack: sugar-free caramel latte from Starbucks. Only carbs are in the non-fat milk...about 12.

Hey guys, just checkin in. I'm still at the beach and I'm having a great time. I haven't been counting carbs, but I'll get back on track next week. Ever since we arrived at the beach, my restiction has practically vanished to none. I though I was at my sweet spot but I don't think so anymore. I'll be ready for another fill when I get home! I didn't read all the threads because I was soooo behind, but it looks like everyone is doing great, keep up the great work!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
