D: 3 oz roast beef, 1/2 c. strawberries

Yeah Apple! You go! I did too...my only down fall today was waiting so long to eat...I have lamb chops in the oven...

birdee, and starbucks has SOOOOOO many carbs. Even with my starbucks I stay under on calories, but those carbs kill me. They don't help my sugar cravings a bit either.

Ok...Low Carbers does anyone worry about fat? My calories, carbs and Proteins are where they need to be....but my fat is a little high. Should I be concerned. Is there a range where fat should be....

I had cauliflower with cheese sauce and a steak and cheese sandwich(2 steak ums) with cheese...no bread.< /p>

Everything is OK with this meal as far as carb, calories, and Protein goes....just wondering about that fat?:)

Let me know your thoughs!!!

Thanks!

I try to watch the fat. I don't go nuts counting fat grams but I will choose something that has lower fat even if it adds carbs, such as skim milk.

I am glad there is no star bucks here. The nurse at our support group is always saying that the people who have trouble are those that choose to drink their calories.

Today my plan is: Atkins bar for Breakfast

chicken salad for lunch

Protein drink for dinner

B: 4 oz lean ham

L: 4 oz tuna/light mayo 2 tbls

My plan for dinner: 1/2 cup brocolli and pork loin

S: cottage cheese

The scale hasn't moved this week but it will (at least that's what I say when I'm talking to myself)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
