Surgery Tomorrow 3/18...Yikes!

Recommended Posts

I can't believe it's here, OMG.... I'm not nervous at all, I just want this over with. Today I have to keep my food very light and then at 3:00pm I take phoso soda, I hate that stuff...

I remember when I was researching this surgery about a year ago, went to the seminar in July and then decided let me try one more diet, weight watcher, well that was short lived. I decided in December I had enough, I needed help and went back to the surgeon and started the process. In January we started all the paperwork and every step of the way went smoothly. I believe when you have no stuggles during a process then it's meant to be.

Well I will be on the other side over the weekend, and I will get back on the board to share my experience.

I can't THANK all of you enough, I get so much support here...

Good luck Corgi: We will leave the light on for you and fluff up the pillows upon your return. I can feel you excitement.

Come back and give us an update when you feel up to it. Take it from this kitty as a way to waste the day. LOL!!

This is very true Corgi & for those of us who do struggle the taste of victory can even be a little sweeter;0)

You'll do great & I hope all is uneventful just as your process has been. I wish you a very speedy recovery! Congrats.

Best of luck tomorrow! Tomorrow is my 3 week anniversary of my band and i am still excited about it! Let us know how it goes. If you can do it, a few hours after recovery, call someone and leave them a voicemail. I called my wife and left her a voicemail I don't even remember and it's the funniest thing! smile.gif I sound like a perv at first breathing into the phone smile.gif "haaaahaaaahaaa...Well it's over, there's a lot of pain but it's done...haaahaaahaaaaa" smile.gif

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
