katie78 0 Posted March 18, 2008 Saw the dietician today and this is what they gave me for post op diet: just wanted to see if this is what you all are doing Clear and Full liquids for two weeks: including strained broth, low fat cream Soups, cream of wheat, skim milk, light yogurt, diluted juice, Tomato juice, popsicles, crrystal light, Jello, pudding, carnation instant Breakfast, Protein Shakes THEN: Pureed/Very soft foods for two weeks THEN : Soft foods, for two weeks, I guess then that would put me at six weeks and on to regular food, but she said to add food one thing at a time so that if something doesn't sit well, I'll know what it might be. How does this all sound normal? I feel like I'm going to be a grouch for the 6 weeks! Oh and also! This she said is really important: HAVE ONLY 1 CUP TOTAL FOOD PER MEAL 3 TIMES A DAY, For instance: 1 large scrambled egg 1/4 hot Cereal 1/4 sugar free yogurt 1/4 light canned fruit===all equals a cup I feel like I'm going to be starving! Did any of you find this?
VegasGrace 1 Posted March 18, 2008 Luckily I didn't have that restriction on food. Good luck!
shortgal 5 Posted March 18, 2008 My post op was very similar. You'll manage, each week you get to move to a new phase and that helps.
lucymae 0 Posted March 18, 2008 I was on a similar diet. When I went in for my two week check up the doctor told me that I could resume my regular eating at three weeks. He won't give me my first fill for six weeks. I did NOT resume my regular eating (I wish he would not have told me that). I am on fish, tuna, cottage cheese, Soups etc. I am not bored with the food and I WANT to lose weight while I am waiting for my first fill.
