loupoohmu 0 Posted March 17, 2008 I have had a series of fills all resulting in a unfil. I have a 4cc band that was to tight at surgery date and almost had to be removed after 14 days of not being able tokeep anything down and daily IV's. It has been a year and I am back at 1cc again due to a unfil. The highest I have ever been is 1.7cc. which resulted in a diliation and had to have a complete unfil. I worked my way back to 1.7 two weeks ago and yep here we go again. I do fine the first 5 days after my fills. No problems. The fifth or sixth day my chest hurts, I cant keep Water down and I have to get an unfil. Any thoughts as to why it takes so long for me to react or what I could be doing wrong. I have been at the same weight since September and this is getting very frustrating.
VegasGrace 1 Posted March 17, 2008 Hate that for you. The lapband system won't work for everyone...but it may work for you, still. I'd just be really slow and get .5 cc for the first two fills, then .2 cc after that. I'd go in every 4 weeks until you got restriction. But it seems like your doc is really working hard to get this to work for you. Hang in there.
shortgal 5 Posted March 17, 2008 It sounds like you had the wrong size band from the beginning. You might be one of the people that a larger band would have been better for. You might have to just keep your band at a lower fill and lose weight slower with a lower restriction. Slight restriction would probably be better than not having a band at all.
