Its been a year since I had my surgery. Im pretty sure I was filled to my max 4cc or whatever, that was probably 5 months ago. I really have not lost much since than. Im trying to decide should i go for another fill? Is it even possible? I still get that pb feeling once in a while, but i never really feel full after a meal like i thought i would.. Im a bit depressed by the whole thing can anyone offer some advice?

After your fill five months ago...if you saw no weightloss in 2-3 weeks you should have called your doc.

But no, it's not too late.

Just call now. It's never to late for a fill.

I have read that saline in the band can evaporate or you could have a leak, so why not see the Dr and have it checked?

You can actually go to 5cc's in this band. I am finally at restriction at 4.2cc's. I wouldn't wait a second longer than I had to if I were you.

All very good to know. My Dr. Said I shouldn't have more than 4cc's in my band... At my second fill I'm up to 3cc's. I've thought of the future and what if I get "used" to this fill level and it becomes in-effective...

Do complete unfills and then new fills work?

I was kind of wishing that I was given like a 10 or 14cc band so I'd have a broader range for fills. Seems like 4 is so small and appearltly get's used up pretty quick.

From what I've read on the forum, once your band is already adjusted well, a very small fill (like .2cc) amount is usually all thats needed.

Before I can say yes, seek a fill, let me ask...

How much do you have left to lose? E.g. if you're close to goal, then you can't necessarily expect to lose much weight, even over the course of a few months.

How are you eating? If you aren't losing weight, and are eating crap, then a fill probably isn't the answer.

There is a threshold of overfill that the bands can handle. I'm not sure what it is. First, if you're doing everything right, still have significant weight to lose, etc. you should have the current fill level checked. Maybe your last fill took your to 4cc, but you're not there any longer. They can check this during a regular fill appt.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
