tight sometimes??

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone else every have their band feel really tight sometimes, and then like its not there at all other times? Quite often I will drink something and can feel my band, or eat and the food instantly feels hung up for a few minutes, then clears.(this tends to happen at night and hurts!)

Then other times I can eat almost anything, and alot, with no problem and no pain. Am I the only one?

No you are not the only one......there are other posts on here regarding this issue...people say that the weather messes with their band. I know when aunt flo is coming to visit I get tight. This thing is never the same!

Yep, I can vouch for that! Just last week I was on here moaning about the disappearance of my restriction - yet woke up yesterday morning - and bam! It was back! Bizarre!

When I saw the title to your thread, I thought, yep, I have tons of tight clothes.. But I see that's not what you meant..LOL and those are not only tight sometimes, their tight all the time.... Hello my Florida friend, I don't have much restriction at this time so there are few things that I have a hard time eating, but when I first got my band I did experience that sensation you are talking about. I get filled tomorrow, so hopefully I can finally have some restriction and start losing some of this ugly weight.

It comes and goes all of the time for me. Sonce my last fill, it is luckily here mor often than not. Maybe it just depends on the amount of fills. I am pretty sure everyone has the same problem

I am really tight right now. I was filled last Friday and can't seem to eat anything of substance until around 2pm and then it is very slow and very little. I don't know if I am too tight or not. I am going to give it a few days and see h ow I am doing. I think I am getting my calories and nutrients, but I just can't eat much at once, I have to speread it out.

I am tight first thing in the morning, sometimes I can't even get in more than a few sips of coffee, then I loosen up some in the later morning, I can usually eat bandster size portions in the late afternoon, then in the later evening I tighten back up. This is varied and I can have unexpected periods of relaxation in the morning or at night, and it is subject to how I'm feeling, my monthly visitor tightens me up, colds/sinus issues tighten me up... it took some paying attention to my band habits before I realized how it was working for me, and now I plan my intake around it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
