Was just wondering how many times do they usually try to hit the port before hitting it? I had a really hard time with my first and was jabbed about 24 times? Does it usually take this many?

Also what is the usual amount of fills and amounts does it seem to take,

Oh do they usually numb you? I had no numbing meds is this unusual

The next time you go for a fill INSIST on a different person. The maximum should be twice before getting another person to try. I have had fills with and without the novacaine and was stuck twice for the first fill and once for all the rest.

it is understandable that sometimes it is hard to find the port entry on the first try, however, i would not accept more than two tries!! Also, you need to request a little lidocaine to ease the discomfort. Sorry you had to endure that. :drool:! The lidocaine made a world of difference to me!!
