My plan for today was to take my little guy to the rec center today while the older kids were in school. The daycare is usually full, but if not, I was going to put him in while I worked out a little, then get him out and spend some time screwing around in the pool.

We pay for these memberships every year, and every time I try to go, something happens.

This time, my 5 year old is puking. (ETA: Not in the toilet, if you know what I mean)

On another note, he's the 4th of 5 kids to be throwing up, which is making me increasingly nervous about my own stomach. When my daughter was sick, I didn't come out of my room all day. But now my dh is convinced he's sick (which will go on for at least another week), so it's me and the vomit. Ugh. I don't know what I'll do if I get the flu!!!!!!!! Both bandwise and otherwise!

Not a good day here. LOL I'm not trying to sound totally selfish, I'm sorry everyone is sick but urgh.

I hear ya. I had the same reaction when others around me were getting sick. I managed to avoid it this time, but I'm terrified at the thought of a stomach bug with the band.

I'm going to try to remember to ask my doc about anti nausea meds at my next visit. A lot of folks on here told me they keep them on hand for just such an occasion.

Oh I have them! And I've been popping them like some kind of junkie. Anyone around me even looks a little green, I'm popping the pill.

I even asked yesterday if I was really supposed to be taking these preemptively, and she said it was fine.

I'll do anything to not puke. LOL

Anige, I feel you pain. I have four kids, and it takes a good month for it to go through the entire house. In the fall, I start my kids on acidophilis chewables (its the good bacteria in yogurt) and it seems to help them fight those bugs off. I take them too (but not since the band, I forgot to ask my dr). Anyways, my kids only got a small sniffle so far this year (knock on wood). Good Luck!

I'd be in a panic. But I have managed to avoid several episodes of gastro myself, not the fear that goes with it mind you, but the actual illness. Gastro seems to be one of those things that its not a given that you'll get it becuase you've been in contact with the kids before you knew they were sick. It seems to be more a direct handling of bodily fluids and close contact that spreads it. Unlike colds where once the sniffles start, you just know that in a day or two, you're going to come down with it too. But to me, a cold is a pain in the bum, vomiting and diarrhoea are terrifiying prospects by comparison.

So..... when my kids have had it, I do not touch them, literally. I go through cans and cans and cans of Glen 20 (spray disinfectant), everywhere they sit, lie, pause, gets sprayed as well as taps, doorhandles, toilet seats etc. Every vomit is handled with gloves - like 500 pairs of disposable gloves over a couple of days. Bleach every freaking where. Even bleach the washing machine and dryer doors and buttons. Not a single germ to survive in the house. I dont touch the washing, their clothes, their bedding, towels, NOTHING without gloves on and I go through a couple of bottles of that hand sanitiser each time too. I dont touch my face without washing my hands first. Definitely dont handle dishes without gloves, wash hands before eating, etc.

Its hard work, you have to be very vigilant but you can surivive puking pooing kids without catching it yourself.

I also have anti nausea medication on hand in case I do get sick.

I sound completely obsessive compulsive I know. But I am a big baby when it comes to stomach illnesses, its just horrid, I hate them and I dont want to catch them. I dont care about catching a cough or a cold but not a tummy bug!

I'm with you Jacqui! When my daughter got sick, I didn't come out of my room all day. LOL

No one puked yesterday, and there's only one person in the house who hasn't had it yet (besides me, and I did feel pretty crappy one day, but I was poppin anti nausea pills like a junkie, so I'm not sure if I had it or not).

Hopefully it's over! The Lysol has been flyin!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
