Is anyone else wondering what's going on when you click on New Posts? Right now my list is completely empty. Earlier it was loaded with stuff I haven't looked at yet. I find this happening more and more often, where I don't get a chance to read the new posts before they're gone. Has something changed? For example, I didn't even know there were new posting rules until just this second when I started this thread. Never saw it.

The 'new posts' function shows new posts that have been added since the last time you visited the board. It doesn't show only posts you have not yet read. That's the way it's always worked. Traffic has dropped somewhat, but if you last clicked on "new posts" at, say, 6:00 p.m. and then try it again at 8:00, you'll only see the threads that have been added to in the intervening two hours.

In the old incarnation of this software there was a button with "today's posts" but that's been gone a while. Maybe that's what you're thinking of?

Lisa, have you tried using the "back" button? Sometimes thats the only way I can find anything after Ive replyed to a post. (did that make sense?)

I use the back button too, once I don't get the new posts I haven't read yet. I seem to be able to click on new posts a few times before the list shortens.

What I do when I don't want to lose the "New Posts" screen is this: I right-click on whatever thread I'm interested in and when the menu pops up I select "Open in New Window." Then I can read and reply to a thread and when I'm done, close that window and go back to the other one where the New Posts screen is still waiting for me.

I think I know what you're talking about Lisa. When I haven't been on for awhile, it seems like it messes up the New Posts thing for a little while. That just means you have to check in more often. Cause I'm sure you don't have anything else to do...I know I don't.

I'm still confused though because sometimes the same old posts would be showing all day even after I read them and shut down. That thing that Alex said has my eyes crossed. I think I'll stick with Megan's easy way and just check in more often! Thanks though.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
