Stuck at 17 pounds!!!

Recommended Posts

I'm stuck, too. No weight loss for several days. I started counting calories today just to see where I'm at. I agree with everyone else. I think my body is holding on to whatever it can! We will all probably break loose at the same time and the pounds will start dropping! Now, pass the ice cream! LOL

Yay! It worked!

I basically ate about 7 small meals yesterday! After dinner I totted up my calories at was at 900 (after what felt like non stop eating) so I had some full fat soft cheese on crackers (good for protein) and this morning was down 2lbs!!!! Yay!!!

So basically I was eating too little (not usually a problem for me!) so I am trying to eat more than 3 times a day now. Have been grazing all morning so far (smoothie at my desk and have been drinking my way through it all morning where I used to have a bit for Breakfast and then nothing until lunch). Nice to see the scales move. It's weird though as I feel I am eating loads to lose weight!

Isn't that the funniest thing though???? It's an odd sensation to be trying to consume more calories in order to lose weight! It works though! At least it did for me. I've been on liquids (full and clear) for the past couple of days since my fill and am eager to be able to eat more so I can get my calorie level back up. Today is the first day in 10 that the scale hasn't dropped so it has to be due to not getting enough calories. Amazing!

How funny...I was coming here to post about this exact thing today. I have lost 27 lbs and now the scale just won't move. I'm eating about 600 calories, maybe not quite that much all week. I'm frustrated with mushies because I am not liking things in the blender very much so I'm eating yogurt, oatmeal, and mashed potatoes and not much else. My surgeon said not to worry how many calories I'm getting and if I need to bump it up, add milk to my Protein shakes instead of Water. I had dinner with my inlaws on Saturday and just ate what they ate (chicken tetrazzini) and then had leftovers for lunch on Sunday and lost like 5 lbs just over the weekend.

Until I can start soft foods, I'm not sure how to go about getting in more calories. I also have restriction without a fill so when I do eat, I don't even finish 1/2 cup usually. The doctor did suggest trying to eat very small amounts more times a day. My goal for today is to get in all of my Water because the last couple of days have been bad as far as that goes and I feel puffy, which I hadn't felt since surgery.

Ok girls, I have to tell you...I would be THRILLED if I were at a plateau. I keep gaining every day! And I promise I've been good for a while!!!!

Hang in there Gibson....for the amount of exercising I am putting in...trust me my scale is not moving neither...I just can't seem to find the way to add more calories healthfully....or any for that matter....

And I can't stop exercising I am hooked...(stress reliever factor my guess)

I go for my first fill tommw If I don't loose some more now..I am afraid to ask what will help..

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
