Cerrin 3 Posted March 13, 2008 I get my fills under fluro. So no missing. They have this awsome new machiene in the hospital just for bariatric patients. it is wider and has a x-ray part that is further away from the table for bigger patients and my dr can put the needle in while I am under the x-ray. it is great. I feel very confidant in him and his whole staff. They are all very good about talking things thru. he had a medical student in the room when he did my last fluro. The student was great he was asking me if I could feel the port or if I had any weird pain. It was like he REALLY wanted to know about the Lap band. It was very inspiring. The hospital I go to is not a teaching facility but my Dr is the one for the area that teaches other doctors about the band and how to preform the surgery. It is great. antsmith101 0 Posted March 13, 2008 I like how the doctor stick this bigggg neddle into you and then tell you to make crunch... it funny and scary watching the needle just floating there. My last fill was little painful cause the doctor withdrew the Fluid already in me and he couldnt get all of it and he kept pushing the needle down to make sure it fully inside port. Then he filled me up... which im still unsure if he put the 3cc and 5cc together but i got some restriction.
Cerrin 3 Posted March 13, 2008 The first time My Dr used a needle that was BARLEY long enough. so when I sat up he had to hold it deep in place. I kept having a picture of it flying out across the room. Really hard not to laugh.
lucysmom 0 Posted March 20, 2008 Had my first fill today and it was a breeze. No pain - went quickly. liquids for 2 days, then mushies. Glad it's done and I look forward to seeing the difference in what I'm able to eat (or not eat, as it were).
