Ice456 0 Posted March 10, 2008 Okay, this is a weird one I think... Ever since I had the lap-band surgery on Feb 15th, I don't feel the urge to pee anymore... it's something I do now if I remember to. I don't have any incontinent issues or anything... it's just weird. Has anyone else experienced this?

But you might have a UTI or something ? call your doc about it . Mindy
Ice456 0 Posted March 10, 2008 I've talked to my Dr... he said he's never heard of that happening before and that it should pass but it's been 2 more weeks already.

If you talked to him a week ago and its still going on you should call again . After I had my surgery I would have the urge to pee but then would i would go sit down to go I could not go or it took a lot of effort. That lasted about a week . Kat817 19 Posted March 10, 2008 When you do think about it and go in and pee---is it of normal amount? Normal in color? Any pain? When you think about going---do you feel it once you think about it, or is there a total absense of feeling regarding urination? I would have the answers to all these handy and make the Dr. listen, that something is off!!! Let us know! Kat
coltonwade 27 Posted March 10, 2008 I've talked to my Dr... he said he's never heard of that happening before and that it should pass but it's been 2 more weeks already. I just re read this and sort of laughed. If he's never heard of this before how does he know its going to pass ??? Mindy
Ice456 0 Posted March 10, 2008 I know! It is almost funny... It doesn't hurt when I pee... it's normal in color... and I don't feel the urge at all when I think about peeing. It's really weird... it's something that's off, but not of like a huge concern.
Kat817 19 Posted March 10, 2008 When I had my hysterectomy I lost all sensation on the outside of my left leg from mid thigh to below my knee---no reaction to painful stimuli--nothing! Occasional burning feeling---with no regular cause.... Finally they determined, that my surgery took so long, and was so invasive, it was permanent nerve damage. Wonder if there is a nerve anywhere that could have been involved? How strange......have you ever let it go too long, with not having the normal reminder? Is that going to be a problem. I am really not just asking if you ever peed your pants just to laugh at ya!!! And if I do--------feel free to kick me in the leg! Kat
Ice456 0 Posted March 10, 2008 I try to remember to go a few times a day. I haven't had any incidences or anything... I know it's not healthy for my bladder to hold it all day or anything though... and when I'm in pain, I forget to remind myself to go. My only guess is that there was nerve damage somewhere... *sigh*
sfeiner 2 Posted March 10, 2008 Are you on any narcotic pain meds? Sometimes that will happen with narcotics.
