Liquid Tylenol??????

Recommended Posts

I was told to keep liquid Tylenol around after surgery. I can't find it anywhere. Any suggestions? I know you can buy it in childrens Tylenol but if I buy that I will have to take twice as much. Don't they sell it in Liquid for adults???

Hi Jamie!

I used the childrens tylenol, and yes, you have to use twice as much. Another thing was the suger content was very high... yuck!

Thankfully I didnt need it very often. :)

It is in a red box by the regular tylenol. It is very hard to spot because it is in a box. Ask someone that works in the Pharmacy, they will know right where it is. I get it a Wal Mart.

Jamie, it's liquid tylenol for Adults. (1 Tablespoon = 1000 mg. of acetaminophen (tylenol). If you can't find that one, Tylenol Sore Throat Liquid (Maximum Strength) is the identical thing. I ran into that same problem and a sweet pharmacist told me that. Just different packaging.

Thanks Paula/ Kelly/ NewHope I will look again. I just figured I should keep some handy, but if worse comes to worse and I can't find the adult kind I always have the childrens liquid because of my little girl. It's kinda funny when you get to take your kids medicine. LOL!!!

I get mine at Walmart. It's always way up high on the shelf. Like Kelly said it is in a red box.

No wonder I can't find it if its above 5'0'' I never see things that high and I sure can't reach them! HaHa!!!!

I hope the Pharmacist is taller than me or we will never find it!!LOL!!!

I bought mine at CVS pharmacy, and saw it at Walgreens. Marie is exactly right about the sore throat liquid tylenol; it's the same thing, with nothing extra added, just the acetaminophen. The liquid in either type is like taking 2 extra strength tylenol pills @ 1000mg, (regular tylenol is 650 mg for 2 pills).

I have been on the look out for those excedrin quick tabs, (acetaminophen and caffeine). Anyone know where to find these anymore??

I found some at my local IGA a while back after looking every where, so I bought 2 boxes, but those are nearly gone, and I can't find them again. :)

They have a minty taste and melt fairly quick, but I still need a drink to rinse the taste out. I just like them because I can keep them in my purse for when I'm away from home.

When I'm out of the quick tabs, I carry a bottle of childrens aspirin, and a bottle of children's acetaminophen chewables for headaches, but I have to take a combination of the two so it's a gazillion aspiriny tasting fruity pills to chew up... bleh

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
