I didn't get anything like this when I had my sleep study. They sent the results to my cardiologist, and when I went in for a follow-up, he gave me the results. I had severe sleep apnea and was put on a CPAP machine. Maybe your doctor can interpret these for you?

This is what will tell you or should tell you how many epidsodes of apnea you had during the night. My doc showed this to me and i had like one every 30 seconds. this says none . But your doc should bring you in to discuss the results , i would not go on what im saying !

thanks for everyone's input. My ENT doc gave me the copy of the report and all is said is everything looked fine. It wasn't until I got home that I actually looked at the report. I guess at the bottom it just looks like they didn't complete the report. I guess I'll just wait for my surgeon to look at it. Not that I want to have sleep apnea, but I was a little disappointed that it showed no findings at all. And I know that on an average night I do have the symptoms of apnea. I just hope the insurance will approve my surgery with this report.

Thanks again to everyone for their input!

Then its probably safe to say you do not have sleep apnea . If you have sleep apnea they will come in at night and put the CPAP on you , adjust the pressures and let you sleep more. that is how they find out what pressures ect to have your CPAP on.

Good luck i hope your approval goes well. do you have any other co morbidities ?

I have a large hiatal hernia, degenerative disc disease, I've had 3 knee surgeries w/arthritis. And that's about it. I just don't know if it will be enough without the apnea. I guess I'll find out!

I would think so ? But you never know with insurance companies .

good luck let us know how it goes. Also maybe the report is incomplete ? your surgeon might have the complete report ?

I had a sleep study and from what I could tell at first you did not qualify for a cpap study, I had my cpap study in the 2nd visit, it seems that is what happened to you, I guess each hospital does the study different. anyhoo, from what I read you will be getting a request from your doc. to have a cpap study. that is how I had mine done. good luck. Mindy-I saw my surgeon around the first of February. They submitted my package to Tricare and Tricare requested the sleep study before approval. But the surgeon requested an endoscopy because of the possible hernia. The hernia turned out to be larger than expected. So we're hoping that will help w/the approval. But of course we were expecting a positive sleep study test because I do have the symptoms of it. But I guess not severe enough to show up on the test! So now they will resubmit it to Tricare and see what happens.

Galina-thanks for the info. I guess every place does it different. I'll inquire about the cpap test.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
