jbhband 0 Posted March 10, 2008 I was banded on 2/27 and am still on the liquid stage and it's been really getting to me. My doc's orders are a bit more stringent than many others I see in here and his were just Water for the five days after surgery and then Protein Shakes and ice pops for 2 weeks. I still have a week to go on the liquids and it's getting harder and harder not to give in and eat something mushy. I feel great physically and have been on the treadmill for 35 minutes the last two days. Along with pre-op wieght lose and since the surgery I have lost over 40 lbs. which is incredible. I lost 9 pounds in the five days after the surgery which really surprised me. I want to follow my doctors orders and I know that once I'm past this it will be worth it. It's worth it already!. I guess I'm just looking for some words of encouragement, especially from those who have been where I am and got through it. Thanks
Iluvharleys 15 Posted March 10, 2008 Wow, I guess your doctor is more stringent, I have never heard of anyone doing only Water for 5 days. It is so important to get your Protein in, I'm glad he is letting you have that. Jello is considered a liquid, along with beef broth and chicken broth. The Jello and popcicles helped me a lot, but then I was only on liquid for 2 weeks. You have 5 days to go, you have made it this far, so maybe you can just handle 5 more days. If not, then I would definately call your doctor and ask if you can do some Soup or something. Good luck to you!
Jkck660 0 Posted March 11, 2008 :cursing:Wow, only Water for 5 days!! That is tough. I know what you are going through. I am in my second week of liquids. I am able to have protien shakes and yogurt this week. Hang in there. I am scared. Today I was making my son a cake, (I know, why did I do that?) I ate some of the batter. I know that it is liquid, It is just not the kind of liquid I am supposed to be on. I am scared, I hope that I didnt do any damage to the band. I dont know what came over me, I just took a bite then I couldnt stop, I had a couple more bites. Oh, I am soo mad at my self. So hand in there. If you feel like you cant go any longer, maybe you should call your Dr. and ask if you can have some mushies. Good luck,

BBURNZ 0 Posted March 11, 2008 I was banded the 26th and am back on pretty normal foods. Of, course, I'm not losing any weight because I am eating slightly less than the same as always.
