If this is being bad--I'll take more

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I just got back from a week long business trip, and really struggled with my intake. Old Aunt Flow was in the mix making me fill "hungrier craving er " than I've been since this band.

A MIRACLE...I thought I was being "BAD" and after 1 day at home I'm down 4 Lbs after being up 2 Lbs from my trip.

What is dawning on me is that my BAD now is so very very GOOD compared to what my NORMAL was before my beloved band.

I know now that by the grace of my band I was able to stop eating most of the time within reasonable moderate parameters (new thing for me). I also know that had I given better effort with Water and excercise on my trip I could have lost more....but there's the learning that I'm having to do.

My gratitude to you dear friends for the support that we give and receive.

Loving my band

Amanda

the band really is great, isnt it??

with proper restriction, most "bad" days are better than a non banded normal day.

congrats on 24 pounds so far!

I'm having exactly the same experience! I was terrible yesterday but not as bad as I normally would have been pre-band. I also am having a mega visit by Aunt Flow for some reason. I'm not sure if it is that, or my changing eating patterns or a combination of both or what. All I know is that after two weeks of not budging I have suddenly dropped seven lbs in a week! Like you said, whatever it is, I'll take it!

Congratulations to you both. You have made me so grateful for Menopause:lol:

Keep up the good work!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
