I was told no swallowing pills until 6 months post op and then only if they are no bigger than a pencil eraser. I would guess that they would be bigger than that.

I found this product about 3 months after my surgery now I did choose to have the by pass over lap band but just speaking about capsul pro it worked great I was finally able to get all my Protein in and I even took it into my doctor and showed it to him and the nutritionist and they both stated that it would be okay for me to try them out. It really is pure Protein and 3 capsuls give you 11 grams of straight protein I would take them 3 times a time in order to make sure to get all of my protein.

The capsuls are about the size of a Tylenol gel cap or a bit larger but it desolves very quickly. My doctor said that after 90 days I was able to start taking them and for those having alot of issues with getting their protein 90 days is better than nothing.

I'm having trouble finding it any longer so if you are able to find it please let me know as I would love to continue to use it even though I'm far enough out to where I don't need it. I am 2 1/2 years out from my surgery and do not regret it at all. Doctors recommended I loose 101 pounds and without trying I exceeded that and have now for the most part stopped loosing but I'm also no gaining:) I started at 262 and stay between 145 and 150 now.

The best advance I can give is stay away from carbonation and as for liquor only in very small doses maybe a drink 1 a month or less but again nothing with carbonation and nothing for the first year.

I followed 100% of my doctors instructions for the first 6 months and then after that about 90-95% of the instructions I still follow to this day. You must be ready to make changes, if not then don't do it. I know others that did it just to drop the weight and it didn't work and most of them gained back over 60% of what they lost within the first 2 years.

But after further reading, I'm hoping this is for a 12 month supply...I HOPE. I'm thinking you can only get this in a "case"....If anyone sees where we can try a single bottle, please let me know I'd like to try it out.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
