The new exercise equipment....

Dave:

I get nervous when I go down a hill, other than that I don't have a death grip!

I would like to know how anybody can ever actually go up a hill. Have you mastered that yet? Suggestions?

Another question. Right now I have the regular wheels. Do you have the air tires or the regular wheels? Any difference?

Sue, I can manage small hills, but its a real chore. I have the air tires on the T-12 and they ride smoother, but are harder to learn on. The hill climbing is a lot of short carving by pushing the bar away quickly and then you get a little forward movement.

Glad to see someone else on the board with one...

Hi All:

Yesterday I got an e-mail from my daughter. She told me that now that I weigh less than 200 she doesn't have to worry about my weight. She said now she just has to worry about me falling off my trikke!

Too funny! I make sure I wear a helmet every time so that if I do fall I can only hurt things that can be fixed.

Still loving my trikke.

Sue

Sue, I found a new Trikke trail Saturday and logged 8 miles on it. Its paved and wanders around in a state park. While there I met a guy thats 70 yrs old and has put 124 miles on his trikke since mid January. That guy was amazing. Hused to walk a lot, but said the trikke really stepped up his exercise program.

Dave:

I'm jealous. The best place I found near me is an empty parking lot. I go and ride for about a half an hour and then my legs get too tired to continue without increasing the risk of hurting myself. I cannot track the mileage with mine. When the weather gets warmer I'll try the Cape Cod Canal, however the wind is going to be a killer on the canal so I'm not sure that will work out.

Keep trikking!

The ones with the air tires, like the t-8 air or the T-12 will work on hard packed dirt roads, but loose dirt and gravel does'nt work well. I've tried to make it down a gravel road and didnt get far.

Hi:

I never tried anything but paved surfaces and it gets slowed by bumps and cracks in the tar, so I cannot imagine that a dirt road would work.

Well worth it to drive to a great paved area and then trikke.

Good luck, and let us know if you get one.

Take care.

Sue

Congrats on the new trikke. It takes a little to get used to the movement, but the results are well worth it.

Two days of trying to ride my trikke and I'm grounded with a knee that isn't functioning too well. I'm not sure what I did to it, but it was from the trikke. :)

I'll try again when my knee is healed up.

WOW, hope it heals real quick. I like the no impact part of the trikke. I did have a few muscle cramps when I started, but after the 2nd week, they went away and now I am able to ride up to 15 miles without stopping. By then I am worn out..LOL

My latest mistake was riding 4-wheelers and now I have a quad pull that wont go away.

Good luck and heal quick. The Trikke is calling you....Dave

Hey Friends!! I just go my Trikke on Friday and I am still trying to get use to it. It was really hard at first but I am learning. I took it to the town park yesterday with my daughter (she rode her new bike) and I rode the mile trail. Kind of felt like big dork but oh well. Are youguys finding that it is good exercise for you? I just want to make sure I am not shorting myself out. It is definetly a lot harder than I thought it would be, but I do love it so far!! Wish me luck!

Jaymie:

I don't know how many calories it burns, but I know that I get my heart rate up over 120 usually when I'm riding it. I also can get sweaty when I'm on a longer ride. I'm here in New England, so it's hard to find someplace long and flat without alot of bumps or small hills. So, I spend a fair amount of time walking and pushing it too.

I got a bunch of sore muscles at first too, so I'm guessing that it's using muscles that haven't been used for a while.

Good luck. The sun is shiny today so I'm looking forward to a great trikke ride today.

Take care.

Sue

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
