How many Flinstone Vitamins?

Recommended Posts

Actually they are costco kiddy Vitamins but since they are chewable it's almost like eating a sweet tart. Unfortunatly the % of diet numbers really don't make sense since they were meant for little kids. How many of those should I be chewing up? I currently eat 4 in the morning but I want to make sure my nutrition and vitamins levels are where they need to be.

I take the Walmart brand of childrens chewables. On the label it says for children take 1/2 once a day for adults take 1 a day. I compaired them to all the others and they had the most % in them. My Dr. has me taking 1 in the am and 1 in the pm.

My doctor said if to take 2 flinstone chewable Vitamins daily. I bought the chewables that they sell on obesityhelp.com, I received them yesterday and they taste vitamee. So for now I will use them but later on I may switch to another. Can you tell me how you post the ticker at the bottom of you post, I can create it, but don't know what to copy and how to post it?

Thanks,

Corgi

My doctor just said two of whatever children's brand I like, or one adult chewable. I get mine at costco. I also take additional Vitamin E and a B-complex, both of which are easy to swallow.

Alex, several WLS patients that I know take extra B vit's. Have you noticed if they help your energy level?

Um, well, not really, I guess. I do notice that if I don't take any Vitamins for several days in a row I start to drag, but I can't isolate the effect of any of them in particular. I've always taken E but started adding the B when last summer my surgeon noticed my levels were borderline-low. And since insufficiencies can lead to irreversible neurological problems, he suggested a supplement. I agreed. :)

My doc told me to take one flintstone in the am and one in the pm. He also has me take one Tums in the am and pm. The tums adds Calcium ( which we women all need plenty of) and it also neutralizes stomach acid early in the morning and before bed.

Hope this helps.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
