It depends on the band you have. I have a 4 cc band. I had my first fill yesterday. There was already .5cc in the band and I got 1.5cc more so I have a total of 2cc.

I don't really know so much about fills, but each person is different in the amount of restriction they get from fills. I've read that a lot of times that the first fill doesn't give much restriction and it takes a few fills to get decent restriction. Good luck!

I have a 4cc band, and got about 3cc in my first fill. So far, this seems to be good restriction for me. I have heard that as you lose weight, the band may loosen, so maybe I will need more of a fill later, but for now, I am content.

I have 4.5 cc's in a 12 cc band. I've had 2 fills and still am able to eat anything. It's so interesting how different doctors are with band types and fill amounts.

Just had my 3rd fill this past Thursday, .6cc's, giving me 5.60 cc's in my 10cc band. So far, the restriction is great, and I am on mushies today, so have to see when I hit the solids on Monday..

I had my first fill on Wednesday, 1.8 cc in an empty 5 cc band. She told me she starts everyone out at 1.8 because she found when she started people at 2 cc about 50% of them got "sick as a dog" (her words) from it being too tight to start out with. She told me the 1.8 wouldn't be very tight on me and that I shouldn't panic if I didn't feel a lot of restriction yet. I can feel a little restriction, but I know I'm going to be ready for the second fill I've scheduled for April 19.

I was happy to see this thread. I've been curious what others were experiencing with their fills. I have a Realize 9cc band. 1st fill was 4cc & last Friday I got my 2nd fill with 2cc. I'm comfortable, I still don't have to chew bite into mush but I'm very aware I'm satisfied with less food. I'm enjoying the opportunity to learn more about myself & changing my habits.

Thanks for all your sharing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
