Income tax return

Recommended Posts

Sorry to inform you that you are incorrect. I suggest you speak with a tax accountant or even go to the Welcome Page | Page d'accueil website and look under medical expenses. You cannot carry forward medical expenses. They have to be claimed for any 12 month period. If you made more than 1 payment then you can use each payment as your 12 month period but there is no maximum except for dependant adult children and other dependant adults besides a spouse. The $10000 maximum is not applicable to yourself or to your spouse.

My best advice is to either contact a tax accountant or Canada Revenue Agency directly.

Also it is 3% of your income or max 1926!!!!!. If the 3% is less than 1926 you take that amount but anything over 1926 that is the amount you have to be over... So, you can make 80000 this year and you can claim anything over the max of 1926

Let clear this up so.

According to this Line 330 - Medical expenses for self, spouse or common-law partner, and your dependent children born in 1990 or later

If you claim it on line 330, there is no max if it is for you, your spouse or dependant child born after 1990.

Melady, me thinks that you doth be confused with this page for claiming line 331, which is the line that is used for claiming for:

  • your or your spouse or common-law partner's child who was born in 1989 or earlier, or grandchild; or
  • your or your spouse or common-law partner's parent, grandparent, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, niece, or nephew who was a resident of Canada at any time in the year.

There is a $10,000 limit for claiming for line 331 according to the CRA, but no limit if you are claiming it on line 330. If you or your husband is claiming it for yourself use line 330.

If all else fails, hire an accountant. They are not that expensive and often pay for themselves with additional deductions found.

Andrew

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.
