What kind of stuff did your doctor say you could have? I am not even aloud to have Soup until week three, and I read a bunch of these forums and most ppl can have soup within a couple of weeks. I am so sick of Protein drinks, broth, and Water. Do you have any suggestions on how I can spice up my liquid meals?

Today makes my two week mark after surgery and I'm able to have: scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, cream Soups, tuna fish, stuff like this. After today I can start trying more solid foods... I read where one person said they were eating cream soups and scrambled eggs the day after surgery. WHAT? It is odd how doctors have so many different rules..

It is very odd how all doctors do things differently. My dieticians appear to be very strict. Today is my week one mark after surgery, but I go back on Friday. Hopefully at that point I can have different things. At this point I feel no restriction but then again I am on all liquids so I am starving all the time. I hope that when I start eating actual food I will notice. My surgeon put 2 ccs in my band at the time of surgery. Do you know how many ccs they put in on a fill?:)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
