HELP.... I need some lunch box ideas..... I take my lunch to work each day and if I eat Soup one more day i'm going to go off the deep end.

Please share some new ideas. I need a filling lunch so I don't get the drive home danger munchies but i'm fresh out of ideas.

I like taking roast beef or turkey from the deli and rolling it up with some cheese. I find that to be very filling.

Wow, I just don't know. Rice, sweetpotatoes, mashed potatoes...those are about all I can eat ...in public...and not have to worry about sliming.

But others can't tolerate them. I'm going to come back to this thread to get some ideas, too.

Great post!

Although I am not banded yet, I have found a TON of things that make you go hmmmmmmm on the post called something like "What have you eaten today?"

I have found reading what others are eating has helped me to be able to plan what I am going to be packing for lunch (since I am not telling my co-workers about WLS).

I will be using the individual cottage cheese, individual fruit cups, Dannon Lite & Fit yogurts, hard boiled eggs, Egg salad, Slim Fast, Weight Control instant oatmeal, etc. I also plan to use Protein shakes - homemade and store bought.

Hope this helps you guys. Good Luck to all of you.

Hi:

I pack a lunch for work every day. The things that are on my list that work well for me are:

1/2 Protein bar and 1/2 piece of fruit

packet of instant oatmeal

Cereal bar

1/2 cup of oat squares Cereal

1/2 cup of life cereal

ff yogurt

1 hard boiled egg and diced peaches

I'm very fortunate because I'm not hungry at all, so eating is kind of a chore for me during the day. But, watch out at night. Thank goodness for sugar free popsicles. Oh yeah, I keep them at work too for an afternoon snack.< /p>

I look forward to see what others say.

Sue

If you like cold salads like tuna, chicken, ham, or egg, they're pretty easy to make, high Protein and filling. You can get creative, too. This week I had tuna and avocado salad (I got that idea from the mushies thread). No mayo since the avocado made it creamy, but I did add some garlic and lime juice. I made about 1.5 cups, divided it into thirds in small containers and that was lunch for 3 days. You do have to watch the portions if you add high fat items like avocado or nuts (I love pecans in chicken salad), and ff mayo tastes fine to me when mixed with lots of ingredients. But you can process them to the consistency that you can tolerate. I'm on the tail end of the mushy stage so I process the heck out of it.

I've gotten a lot of good ideas from the "What are you eating today?" type threads here also.

Have you tried the South Beach diet wrap meals? I love these things. 220 - 250 calories and 20g Protein for 2 wraps and i can usually only eat 1. Suprisingly tasty. My wife eats them becasue she likes them and she is not trying to lose weight. They are like $2 at Walmart.< /p>

Guys, I am loving this thread. You are giving us some really great ideas. I know I am tired of eating the same old things every day for lunch and am looking forward to going shopping this weekend and getting some new things. Please, keep the ideas coming.

I am still on liquids until the 18th and lately since food is on my mind and I LOVE COOKING- here are some LF/Low Cal recipes I have come up with:

-salad with shredded chicken w/ mandarin oranges and a LF vinagrette(i use homemade so i can use more for less calories) (you can also throw a small handful of nuts)

-A taco salad- lettuce with Beans, LF cheese, LF sour cream *instead of plain black Beans you can use: a LF/LC black bean relish(beans, red pepper, corn, lemon juice and sweet&low) and shredded chicken (you can make a bigger batch and eat for 2 or 3 days) you can crush up a small handful of tortilla chips too-also natural salsa is very healthy for you

-A low carb wrap with thin red pepper strips, spinach, feta cheese, red onion and healthy choice chicken

another tip-is omletes do well if you make them the night before, refridgerate and eat them for lunch! * egg white omlete with LF chesse, some veggies, and some bits of turkey bacon*- you could also use some shredded potatoes for an extra filler!

I hope some of these sound good for some of you! :biggrin2:

I bring tuna, or egg salad for lunch a lot. I try not to bring lettuce too often it just doesn't stay with me long enough to make it until I get home without starving. I also bring cottage cheese or yogurt with fresh fruit cut up in it.

My standard lunch since starting solids about two months ago has been a sandwich made with Mountain bread. It's a low fat, low carb flatbread - very thin but flexible - that I found first at Trader Joe's, and now at my local grocer. At first I ate a whole flatbread - lately (as my restriction increased) I've been cutting them in half. I smear it with 1-2tsp light mayo, layer 4-5 pieces of thin deli meat and 1/2 cup spinach, and roll it up. After I eat that I can sometimes eat 1/4-1/2 of a piece of fruit.< /p>

Normally I try to stay away from processed foods and white flour, but some days lately I have been eating a Lunchables Jr. for lunch simply because I am quite tight right now and can't eat very much and also because I have been having trouble with eating too big of bites and not chewing throughly enough. The turkey and cheese in the Lunchable Jrs is already in small cubes for me and the crackers are the little Ritz Bits. Eventually I'll get back away from the processed and white flour...but for now it's one of the things that's working.

tuna comes in little individual size servings now...some with mayo, some not. Bumble Bee makes tuna with flavors like lemon pepper (my favorite) basil and sun dried Tomato and oriental in individual size servings. Perfect! Hard boiled eggs. Individual size or snack size cups of cottage cheese, V8 juice in small cans, chicken salad and crackers, no sugar added cups of applesauce, pineapple tid bits in juice in small cups, bananas, deli meats. Left overs.

If you have a dollar store near you they have little packages of tuna or chicken salad and 6 crackers. It is just right and inexpensive. I eat the baby bel light cheese a lot. I eat yogurt. A lot of times I pack a few things because I never know what I will be in the mood for or how my restriction will be.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
