How Quckly Do You Lose Restriction

Recommended Posts

It seems like I was restricted just a few days ago... and now poof this week it is GONE. Is it normal? Should I wait it out and see if it is a hormonal thing or should I try to schedule a fill? I had an appointment 2 weeks ago only and we decided I didn't need one.

Thanks for advice.

I had my first fill 1 week ago, after day 5 I felt a little less restriction but I have another appointment next week. If it were me I would wait it out a few days to see if things straighten out, then call the doc if it doesn't seem any better. Good luck!

THanks for your answers guys but I have had good restriction for 2 months now so I am mostly interested in people's opinions about the change I am feeling.

Thanks!

Personally, I've never felt restriction longer than 2 weeks and I've had 10 fills.

I found this on another forum here on LBT

It is a pouch test to either reset your diet, test your pouch and your weightloss it is also a good indicator if you need a fill or not...

check it out....here is the link

Hope that helps

totally helps! Thanks! I may try a modified version of this. BUT as I write this I am eating lunch and I think I am restricted again! Go figure.

If anyone has tried this, can they post the results? It sounds interesting, but I'm curious to know how long that restriction is felt.

I admit - I eat a lot of slider foods. My weight loss has been very good, and I'm happy with it, but I don't feel as though I have restriction.

This thread is very helpful. I've been over restricted since my last fill and have chosen to live with it. I just have to be careful. My weight loss is ok and I'm not eating "slider" foods. But for the last two days my restriction has gone down. I've not pushed it by eating what I know I can't eat, but I am able to eat more than normal. My test is whether I can only eat three McDonalds chicken nuggets or four. Normally, I can only eat three and would throw up the fourth. Two days ago the drive thru accidentally gave me a 6 piece instead of a four and I was able to eat all six pieces. I could also eat more at lunch yesterday.

Now I am NOT hungry. I can just eat more. I don't intend to overdo just because I can. I've come too far and have paid too much and am enjoying my new look to mess it up now. I guess I'll just watch it. If I start getting actual hunger, I'll get another fill. There is really a difference between head hunger and REAL hunger. However, if my restriction is really tight, I am not able to fullfil my head hunger as easy as before. My Protein bars, which I LOVE, don't go down.

I must not be alone in this though. I certainly hope this is common. I've not messed up my band any. At least I don't feel like I have. Hmmm. :confused2:

I got a lot out your post. I have not had full restriction yet but have lost weight well. I have a problem with head hunger. I find that I can eat more than I should be able to. However, it is still not as much as pre-band. I really need to deal with the head hunger issue because I find that I pick. I don't want to slow down the weightloss. Why is it so hard to feel saiety? Ugh!

I agree Cindy. But I am now not hungry...ever, so what I am dealing with is the head hunger. I am a creature of habit and I have made it so I do not eat any more than two Snacks a day. They can either be a 60 calorie sugar free pudding or my higher calorie favorite...full fat yogurt with pineapple, banana and orange Isopure Protein powder. That one is closer to 250 calories by the time you add it all up. Anyway, I can only have two daily. I can't eat Breakfast excepting my GoLean package of hot Cereal so that leaves dinner. I always eat out with the lunch bunch at the office and they watch what I eat for me. dinner is always 3 to 4 McNuggets on the way home. I drink like a fiend inbetween meals. I don't pick. It is started picking, I wouldn't quit. I also try and walk 2 miles a day, half at break and half with my dog when I get home.

I will admit it did help that when I would sneak a bite of the string cheese that I gave my dog while I ate my pudding that I would choke on the cheese. Now that I am less restricted???? Need another fill I guess. For $17,000 I want to let the band do as much for me as possible. I IS Hard.

Take care.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
