Hi I'm 4 days post op and feeling great. surgery was friday feb 29th, and on sunday walked 3 hours at the mall in tj and today made 4 kms at ducks walking path. I'm a bit sore. I also got gas pills in mx and they work great, but still a lot of gas and bloating. I'm so glad i did this. no weight loss yet, but I'm ok with that.

Congrats....!!! Hi, I am schedualed for surgery 3/7/08 with Dr. A. I feel pretty prepared, but is there anything you can tell me that I might not know. Like my surgery is friday, stay in hospital friday night, saturday night, go home sunday and back to work on Monday. I'm in the "transportation business" so I sit "most" of the time. so,......

There is no way I would be able to go to work so soon. I'm sooo glad I took 3 weeks off now. Feeling ok again seems so far away  Best of luck on your surgery! Look forward to hearing how it goes.

Your lucky. They took me for my upper GI right after my surgery before I went to my room. And you are not I baby. It took me a week before I went back to work and then it was only part time. Some people recover soomer than others. Age, health and the surgery itself all play a part in how well you get back on your feet. Just take it easy and don't try and rush it. You could have some pain for weeks. My doctor said that eveyone is different and all surgerys are different. Do what feels good for you. Keep in touch and I hope all goes well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
