texgirl 0 Posted April 18, 2008 bmrichard, I see Dr. Spiegel in his Pt. Neches office, I haven't met anyone else on here that sees him over here. I had my second fill on Monday. He brought me up to 1.8, I think. Still not feeling any restriction. I ate two grilled chicken tenders at dinner and didn't have any problems. When I was in his office there were people talking about needing a fill because they could eat 6 bites instead of just three. I don't want to be that restricted but I want to at least feel it stop me! I'm still at just 21lbs down. The scale refuses to budge!
MeltobeFabulous 0 Posted April 25, 2008 (edited) I too was banded on the 3/7/08 at UGH by Dr. Spiegel. Doing well. Have lost 25 lbs. Would love to meet the others that share my bandaversary? Good luck all. That's great! Congrats! I'm down 31 as of this morning. I'm scheduled for a fill on Tuesday, but think I'm going to cancel it. I don't think I need it. My typical day consists of: Breakfast 1 cup of coffee w/creamer & artif. sweetner small yogurt w/fruit lunch 1/2 - 3/4 Lean Cuisine lunch 250 calories or less dinner Really varies-am usually tight in the evening Eat a few bites of whatever meat we're having-usually chicken breast 1-2 bites of a vegetable I don't eat between meals & I wait 1 1/2 hours after I eat to drink, I only drink Water aside from my morning coffee.< /p> I figure if that's all I'm able to eat and am satisfied, I don't need a fill! Hope everyone is doing well! Have a great weekend! Edited April 25, 2008 by MeltobeFabulous
terrasmom 0 Posted June 30, 2008 Yes, he does a great job. If you need a lot of hand holding he's probably not your guy; if you need a fabulous surgeon, he's IT. Very professional, very nice, not chatty, gets it done and done right. I stayed overnight like he said to; I thought it was really not necessary and could not have been more glad I did. Everything went perfectly for me and I highly recommend him.
MJRouse84 0 Posted July 5, 2008 Someone said that Speigal is an errogant ass. LOL He might come off that way but he does know what he is doing. You cannot even feel him when he gives you a fill. He doesn't have the best bedside manners so to speak but he knows his stuff. I would much rather have someone who knows what they are doing and be "socially challenged" than someone nice and not know what the hell he's doing. He's a good surgeon. He thinks he's funny and he ALWAY has that weird stuck smile on his face. I cannot help but laugh everytime I see him. Anyway, I highly recommend him. :tt2:
JoanieP 2 Posted July 15, 2008 Hello, I'm considering having lap band surgery by Dr. Spiegel. I'd like to know if you've used him and if so, would you recommend him and how would you describe your experience with him. Sounds like you've gotten plenty of feedback, so you don't really need anymore, but here it is...Dr. Spiegel did my band may, 12 2006 and I have been very satisfied. He is an excellent surgeon, but like some others have said, he doesn't hold your hand and your pretty much on your own when it's all done. I would recomment him without hesitation. I have recently switched drs. ,because I live in Beeville which is quite a drive, to Dr. Chang in Victoria. I like the personal touch I'm receiving from him. Good Luck to you !
