Anyone like to ride offroad?

Recommended Posts

I love to adventure ride. I like going on every kinda terrain possible. I like single track and desert the best. I have a street legal Honda XR650R and a non street legal Yamaha 250. I have taken the big dirt bike on 1200 mile trips. My goal is to ride Copper Canyon, Mexico. I have lost enough weight to regain my confidence on the dirt. I can ride much longer and harder. I can now handle jumping without feeling like my knees are going to buckle. I am just over 4 weeks out of surgery and I am still taking it pretty easy. I lost 25lbs already, down 45lbs from my fattest. I need 25 more lbs to get into the normal body fat range. You guys that do not ride dirt should give it a try. It has made me a better street rider, plus it is a very good workout.

I use to ride the deserts around Yuma, AZ. I had a Honda Thumper. That was a street legal/trail bike 350cc. I had a blast doing all that back when I was 30 years younger and 90 lbs lighter. I finally got to the point in my life where I could afford a nice touring bike. I've done about 30K miles in the last 5 years. Sturgis and Washington, D.C. I told my wife she didn't have to worry about anything, why would I want to kill myself now??? But more power to you, Pilate. Ride it like you stole it!

As a young boy thru my teen yrs I did a lot of dirt bike riding. As I grew older and started hunting more and more. Around here you need an ATV to get the the site of the hunt. My friends and I all have either a 3-wheeler or 4-wheeler bought under the thought it was a need for hunting.

Down here in Bayou country we have a plenty of places to ride in the mud. My friends and I try to make a day of riding and having fun usually during the "wet season". It has become a big yearly event now as all of my original group all have kids involed in it now.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
