I was just banded last week, and am a long way from solid foods...but I was in the mall today and smelt popcorn...and thought...OMG -Will I never be able to eat popcorn again??

Please, say it isn't so!

Hey! I was just banded also, so I haven't gotten as far as popcorn yet, but I have read on here where some bandsters talk about eating popcorn, so there is hope!!

I was worried about that two, but so far I have eaten small amounts a few times and it went fine. I don;t have really good restriction yet, so we'll have to see how it goes later.

There is a poll thread on the forum that talks about different foods that people tolerate. Maybe you could find it.

Of course being able to tolerate some foods changes with each fill and the tightness of our bands.

Now if I was just brave enough to try a Twizzler! LOL. Glad I'm not that brave, they were a big vice before being banded.

HI,

i am a popcorn lover and eat it quite often as a snack at night. i use 1 T. oil and popcorn....no butter!!!

One kernel at a time and chew carefully. A good snack and low in everything but fiber! :-)

Cal - thank you!! I feel better now....it is one of my favorite "diet" snacks...I was worried that the skin from the kernals might get stuck or something!

I have good restriction, and I LOVE popcorn. It is one of my favorites. I eat it often, and without any problems. I eat the 94% fat free. The only little minor problem is that it makes me thirsty and I can't eat and drink at the same time, so no drink to wash it down. However, I still LOVE my popcorn.

I love the new 100 calorie Snacks microwaveable popcorn, they are a perfect snack and go down without any problem.

Yes thankfully, popcorn is one of the things that goes down like their is no band at all. Crunchy things seem to work the best. Doughy things are another story. I could eat a big bag while at the movies cause it goes right through the band into the stomach. I have to force myself to order a kiddy size or none at all.

I like the 100 calorie ones too. It's a great way to not go overboard.

WOW!!

Thanks everyone, what a relief!! (Although knowing I can polish off a bag at the theatre...not so much! I'll have to watch myself on that one!)

Thanks again,

Lindsay

I haven't tried the pop corn - HOWEVER - here we have this stuff that they call puffcorn or hull-less popcorn -a nd it's fairly soft and sorta melts in your mouth --- NOW - 3 cups of the stuff is 150 calories and (I think 7 grams of fat) - which isn't DEADLY bad - but it isn't great either ---

just a thought

Tina - I'll have to look for that puffcorn...do you know if it's microwavable or regular so I can use my own popper? I don't have a microwave and heard way too much bad info about the microwavable popcorn's link to cancer...

OH MY - I'm sorry - it's actually sold - pre-popped in like the chip section -

I believe Conn's makes it - but I could be wrong about the brand

GOOD LUCK!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
